Heat detection

The main application of LHD (Linear Heat Detection) is source detection, meaning the early detection of a heat source. An LHD is a thin cable that can be laid in long sections throughout, for example, a factory, alongside potential heat sources, such as electric motors, compressors, loading stations, electrical distribution panels, cable ducts, etc.

Because LHDs are not sensitive to dust, dirt, moisture or chemicals, they do not give false alarms and the maintenance costs are kept to a minimum. LHDs are available as a digital cable (Protectowire) and a fibre-optic cable that measures temperature fluctuations over its entire length.
